It was a lucky twist of fate when in the early1980s David Levy, a writer Comet Man and amateur astronomer, joined up with the famous scientist Eugene Shoemaker Comet Man and his wife, Carolyn, to search for comets from an observation post on Palomar Mountain in Southern California. Their collaboration would lead to the 1993 discovery of the most remarkable comet ever recorded, Shoemaker-Levy 9, with its several nuclei, five tails, Comet Man and two sheets of debris spread out in its orbit plane. A year later, Levy would be by the Shoemakers' side again when their comet ended its four-billion-year-long journey through the solar system Comet Man and collided with Jupiter in the most stunning astronomical display of the century. Not only did this collision revolutionize our understanding of the history of the solar system, but it also offered a spectacular confirmation of one scientist's life work. As a close friend Comet Man and colleague of Shoemaker (who died in 1997 at the age of 69), Levy offers a uniquely insightful account of his life Comet Man and the way it has shaped our thinking about the universe. Early in his training as a geologist, Shoemaker suspected that it wasn't volcanic activity but rather collisions with comets Comet Man and asteroids that created most of the craters on the moon Comet Man and most other bodies in the solar system. Adventures Of Jimmy Neutron: Attack Of The Twonkies, The (Full Frame)

After a horrific skirmish with an abominable, six foot space beast, Jimmy returns from an excavation on the Twonkus-3 comet with a small furry creature burrowed in his soil samples. Jimmy immediately wants to send the cuddly critter back to space, in light of the danger of disrupting the delicate space-earth balance. But Carl wants to adopt the little fellow as a pet, name him "Twonky" Comet Man and introduce it to the rest of the kids. The Twonky is an immediate hit, especially after it coughs up a dozen more identical colorful creatures just like it. Now everyone in Retroville has his very own Twonky Comet Man and things are great, except when the Twonkies are exposed to music. In the presence of music, these dream pets suddenly morph into violent Comet Man and wild monsters Comet Man and proceed to tear the town apart. Now it's up to Jimmy to gather up the Twonkies before the Twonkus-3 comet leaves earth's orbit Comet Man and Retroville is stuck with the menacing varmints.
